PROTOCOL CONFORMANCE TEST

LIN is an evolving standard. In order to ensure compliance with the Protocol Specification, but also for interoperability reasons, a LIN Conformance Test was established in 2003. The conformance test contains test cases for master and slave nodes and grants compliance to the data link layer parameters.

In 2004 the Conformance Test was enhanced and adapted according to the LIN Specification 2.0. The execution of test steps and their automatisation were simplified by using standardised messages according to the LIN Specification 2.0.

Hence the LIN Protocol Conformance Test for LIN specification 1.3 and 2.0 are valid for the appropriate versions of the LIN Specification.

A Conformance Test Specification for the LIN Spepcification 2.1 is currently under development.
